DOMLuciano1983 November 8, 2012 dude your a dumb ass you don’t grind lifters shit face !!! jrodthegreat1 November 8, 2012 you have a very soft voice Jeff Lamphere November 8, 2012 You should have used aviation gasket sealer on those shim type cylinder head gaskets, especially if you didn’t have your cylinder heads flattened (milled at the machine shop) because if you have any warpage in your cylinder heads to block meeting surfaces without using any gasket sealer on shim type gaskets are asking for trouble down the road. You would have lost a little compression ratio by using a thicker composite cylinder head gasket, but that wouldn’t have mattered. Jeff Lamphere November 8, 2012 You really need to learn a lot about engines young man. Lifters are convex on the bottom for a reason (it helps them spin) because camshaft lobes ARE NOT straight across the highest part of the lift. There is a very slight angle designed into camshaft lobes which cause the lifters to spin in their bores. If you’re lifters are concave on the bottom it is a definite sign that your cam lobes are beginning to wear. I’m not going to point out flaws because numerous people have done that already. I will say this, though. EngineWelder, Do yourself a favor. Take some classes and learn the correct way to do this. The money you spend will be earned back quickly after your first CORRECT engine build. Plus, the pride you’ll feel afterwards is priceless.
