Some 30 sons have worn hems to school in protest at being told they were not allowed to wear shorts.

The pupils from ISCA Academy in Exeter queried permission to modify their uniform because of the hot weather.

One of the sons who made part in the complain added: “We’re not allowed to wear abruptlies, and I’m not sitting in trousers the working day, it’s a bit hot.”

Head teacher Aimee Mitchell told abruptlies were “not part” of the school regalium, as first referred to by Devon Live.
